Free Video Tutorial – Side Chain Compression with the Waves SSL E-Channel
Logic Pro Expert team member and Groove3 audio software tutor Eli Krantzberg has produced a free video tutorial about using the Waves SSL E-Channel plugin in Logic Pro X for sidechaining.
In this video learn how to use the Dynamics to Side Chain function in the Waves SSL E-Channel plugin to control which part of the frequency range of a drum bus will trigger the compressor. By rolling off the low end, the compressor reacts less to the the kick drum, and more to the rest of the kit. When boosting the upper mids, the compressor clamps down on the hi-hat more than the other kit piece elements.
Along with the SSL G-Master Buss Compressor, the SSL G-Equalizer and the G-Channel plugins, the SSL E-Channel plugin is part of the SSL 4000 Collection which is on sale starting today. It currently costs $299 instead of the regular $749. The collection of plugins includes presets from Grammy award-winning mixer Chris Lord-Alge.
